WeDeliver Wheels advocates the bicycle as a vehicle for change to empower at-risk individuals

WeDeliver Wheels was founded in 2022. We were formed with a mission to provide bicycles and cycling gear to non-profit organizations supporting underserved communities in Calaveras and Tuolumne counties. With the help of volunteers, we assemble new bicycles at our Big Bike Build events. Throughout the year, experienced mechanics repair “gently” used donated bicycles which we give to local nonprofits supporting at-risk youth. We also conduct bike repair clinics at local facilities where we fix flat tires, defective brakes and loose chains at no cost.

We listen to people’s needs for transportation in Calaveras and Tuolumne counties. We partner with local nonprofits to meet the transportation needs of underserved communities and distribute bicycles to their clients.

Karen Curley

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

  • Passionate about philanthropy and huge proponent for corporate social responsibility in her previous program management career at DocuSign, Salesforce and Adobe
  • Long-time participant in cycling fundraising events including Climate Ride, AIDS/LifeCycle and National Multiple Sclerosis Society
  • Lives in Copperopolis with her husband, four cats and Bob the Snake
  • Loves to cycle, ski, hike, kayak, swim and have fun with her three sons, family and friends

Patrick Curley

Chief Financial Officer

  • Brings years of financial, operational and marketing experience to our organization
  • VP of Operations at Premium Extracts, which provides high quality cannabis concentrates
  • Lives in the Visalia with his girlfriend and two snakes 
  • Passionate about cooking, fine dining and traveling – 33 countries and still counting

Judi Otteson

Secretary

  • Legal expert with 25+ years working in global high tech as a Business Executive, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
  • Supported 3 companies through IPO, executed M&A transactions, worked on corporate governance and regulatory affairs, and built complex legal departments
  • Splits her time between Kona (Hawaii) and Gilroy with her husband and three energetic dogs
  • Spends her free time practicing hot yoga and pilates, enjoying the beach, and hanging with her family and friends

Roger Wedel

Board Member

  • Philanthropist and active volunteer for many local organizations: Second Harvest Food Bank, Rebuilding Together, Habitat for Humanity, Turning Wheels for Kids and Guadalupe Conservatory
  • Retired thermal efficiency engineer after a long career at Lockheed Missiles and Space and former professor at Santa Clara University
  • Lives in Saratoga in the same house since 1968
  • Enthusiastic about cycling, gardening, Broadway shows, Fantasy Baseball, and reading

Mark Wedel

Board Member

  • Brings expertise for all things technology – systems, data and security
  • Recently retired after a long career in technology, working as an programmer, software developer, lab manager and QA analyst at Google, Oracle and Sun Microsystems
  • Lives in Santa Clara with his two cats, huge avocado tree and prolific fruit and vegetable garden 
  • Avid cyclist, gardener, carpenter, cook, Dungeons and Dragoner, and world traveler
